researchED St. Louis x Mastery™
You came for the research, and Mastery™ helps you put one piece of it into practice.
Take one teaching move from a session and turn it into a habit.
It’s free and takes about fifteen minutes to set up.
Thursday, October 22, 4 PM CT / 5 PM ET on Zoom
To participate, follow these four steps:
-
1. What is sharpening how you think about your practice?
2. What is happening in your classroom that makes it matter right now?
-
Small enough for every lesson. Specific enough to know you did it.

FAQs
-
Mastery™ is a habit-building tool for teachers. It helps a teacher take one idea from a conference session, professional learning, book, or podcast and turn it into a teaching move they practice until it becomes routine.
-
The Momentum Map™ is Mastery’s core tool: a five-stage cycle that teachers repeat over a practice window of about 1-3 weeks.
Every stage and prompt in the Momentum Map™ is mapped to research in the Momentum Map™ Research Design Companion. The tool draws on improvement science, the principles of deliberate practice and teacher expertise, and behavioral science on planning and habit formation.
It is currently available as a free app that can be accessed on a computer or mobile device.
-
For the pilot, you're trying one focused teaching practice for about three weeks, using the Momentum Map to plan it, track it, and reflect on what to do next. The tool is free during the pilot.
Please register for the follow-up Zoom session on October 22nd at 4pm CT / 5pm ET, where you'll check in with other teachers working to build habits around evidence-based practices. It's a chance to share what you've tried and what you've noticed in your students.
What you tell us will inform how we can improve the tool. Mastery is new, and this group is the first to use the Momentum Map, so if something is confusing or a stage doesn't fit how you actually work, we want to hear it!

Check your spam folder first. If it's not there, wait a minute and request a new code.
A personal Gmail address usually works best; some school and work email systems block automated messages.

Yes. You sign in with a code sent to your email, and only you can see your Maps. Nobody else can read them, including other teachers using the tool.
During the pilot, we look at what teachers chose to focus on and what teaching moves they're practicing, so we can improve the tool. We don't read through your reflections. We'll share what we learn back with you and with researchED, summarized with names removed, so the whole group benefits from what the group tried. We never sell your information or share it with advertisers.
AI Polish sends the text of one field to Google's Gemini model to suggest an edit. Your name and email are not sent. Please leave out student names or anything that could identify a student.
